Pre-Regatta Reports

Tuesday, October 7, 2003; 9PM   We had three out of state guests at the lake Tuesday Night.  Brian Roberts of Virginia and Ray Dagenais and Dennis Staley of Michigan joined the WSC Vic gang for an evening sail out.     Light and Squirrelly winds keep things interesting as 10 Vics battled for position!   Our guests got a good taste of Woodlawn, both its sailing and camaraderie.  If this was a taste of this coming weekend then I for one can’t wait!!!!    Official Practice Racing begins 2PM on Friday.  See ya on the water.  -  Eric Gregory

October 5, 2003; 10PM - 10 Victoria's were racing through out the day on Woodlawn Lake in preparation for next weekends Victoria Class National Championship Regatta.  Ray Dagenais from Michigan won a fair number of races this afternoon.  If the rest of the competitors coming this week are any thing like Ray then we are going to have one great competition!
Our next Victoria Sail Out is planned for Tuesday the 7th from 6PM till Dark!   This will be the last Official Victoria Sail out before the Regatta begins.  See everyone on the lake.   - Eric Gregory

October 5, 2003; 9:50AM - Greetings all, This will probably be the last e-mail update that I will send to all on the Vicnationals2003 e-mail account. I want to Thank You for joining in the fun and getting on this list from last November. Being that the VCR Forum is still down, this is the only way to communicate to the few that got listed. So please help spread the word and feel free to forward this to any of your Victoria Club/Fleet members.
With only 4 1/2 days to go till the 1st day, folks are starting to arrive in San Antonio. We at Woodlawn Sailing Club have planned a few Sail outs this week to get as much practice in as possible for the out of towners. The ones that are arriving early have brought family members to enjoy a week in San Antonio.
The major update that I wanted to mention today is that out WSC's Webmaster, Eric Gregory, has stopped at nothing and keep getting creative as this thing goes on with new ideas for all. As of today you can go to the WSC webpage and stay updated everyday this week with stort stories and tidbits about folks arriving and practicing. He has dedicated the WSC's front Homepage as "Victoria Central" for the next couple of weeks. The highlight today and the rest of the week is that you can go to the WSC's Homepage and read the Bio's submitted by each skipper. At the event these Bio's complete with Photo's are part (18 pages) of a 52 page Regatta Program that I have produce for the event. This Program is packed full of Victoria History, Past Nationals Results, Skippers Ranking, Boat Survey of all 2003 Competing Skippers, Sailing Instructions, Notice of Race, Future Notable Victoria Regatta's and even the 2004 Notice of Race for the Victoria Nationals to be held in Detroit. This program will be made available for sale for $10 after the event for individuals or clubs as supplies last. Just e-mail me at any time to reserve your copy. Registered Skippers will receive one in Regatta Bag at Check-In.
So go to the Following Webpage for up to day Results as the weekend goes on by Eric, complete with Photos. Eric will be putting in some overtime on this and I know he will get pleaty of Thanks from all at our Club including myself. Go to:
