Texas OD 39

This radio controlled boat is 100 millimeters or one meter long. It was designed by John Bartlett of Austin, Texas and is a one design racing radio controlled sailboat. It is not for the beginning sailor. Many were built by the sailors but they are now built and sold by Bruce Stephens of Wimberley, Texas. He may be reached at Brucestephens@ev1.net.
There are several fleets around the state including the one located at the Woodlawn Sailing Club of San Antonio, Texas. This is a more advanced and larger model boat that we recommend as one's experience advances. It is for a sailor whose expertise has grown beyond entry level.
The most boats that can be out at any time are thirty boats. Each boat has a designed channel frequency and great care is taken not to have duplicate channels in our club. An Annual Regatta is hosted by the Woodlawn Sailing Club in the spring for The Texas OD39 and sailors come from Austin and as far away as Dallas to compete.
