PRESS RELEASE: LET THE SHOW BEGIN! RE: FINAL PROMO Skippers & Spectators, This will be my final promo before THE SHOW's start tomorrow. I have just come from the lake, where skippers from Alabama have already arrived and are sailing. Time Warner Employee and Race Director JOHN OLIVEIRA is working at the late this afternoon setting up the imfamous "PIRATE CAM" and testing as I type. Weather forecast is looking perfect for the weekend. All the reports of rain and 20-25 mph of wind are all gone and now Weather Channel is forecasting lows in the 60's, highs in the 80's, and 10 - 15mph of wind for both Saturday and Sunday from the prevailing Southeast. How perfect does that sound for Texas, much a Victoria Nationals?! Everything right on schedule with the Reception/Registrat Beer" will begin tomorrow evening at 7PM. Brian Roberts will also give a "State of the Class" report, and be open for discussion for topic concerning the future of the Victoria Class Association. Now for those stuck at home this weekend or having to work, be sure to come by the Official Website of the 2008 Victoria Nationals this weekend, online 24 hours! Follow the links and directions for the "Pirate Cam" and watch the action "LIVE". If you are at work I suggest that you turn the volume down, as you never know what might be said during one of Eric Gregory's Live Interviews. He's had a reputation of interveiwing skippers after a great win during a race or after being hacked back to B-Fleet at any given time! You just never know what Skippers will say when put on the spot. Just a reminder, the website is: www.woodlawnsailing As I mentioned before this will be my last report/promo for the Vic Yahoo site for now. Thanks you for all the time I have taken up these past few months as the need for information is always important to skippers traveling to any event at the Woodlawn Sailing Club. The Pirates of Woodlawn are ready to host for you an event that I hope you find enjoyable. Thank you and Safe Travels Ray "Capt Jack" Seta - Regatta Chairman 2008 |

Tuesday,
October 7th, 7pm -
Busy bees tonight at the club house installing
electric panels, setting up the wireless internet system, watering grass
and moving inventory into and out of the clubhouse. After weeks of
asking everyone to get their boats out of the clubhouse 4 boats still
remained this evening all belonging to BUDMAN. In desperation,
Red-Beard initiated the NUCULEAR OPTION - He called Bud's wife!!!!!
She must have given Budman a mighty kick as he drove out to the lake at
a record setting speed! A surprise for the Pirates this evening was a giant pile of mulch sitting in-front of the patio. No worries though as it will be spread over surrounding bear spots by Friday. |

Definitely pack your rain
gear! Looks like lots of wind. Better check your boats over and
make sure they are sound to minimize breakdowns!

Quote from AMYA President Pete Maxson at the 2nd Annual Alamo Classic Victoria Regatta: "First time I've been in Texas and it is nice! I'm very very impressed and this venue is unbelievable! If we could take a picture of this and put it in the dictionary of what a venue should look like, this is it." |
