48th Annual Fiesta Regatta
April 26, 2003
WOODLAWN
LAKE, SAN ANTONIO, TX
The 48th Annual Fiesta Regatta went out and started with a Bang! The wind was good and the weather was great. Thanks to Lee Woodbury and Bob Taylor, our Judges, and to Lucy Seta for the Beans & Rice and to all others who brought food and helped out with the regatta. The Cascaronoes (sp?) with the WSC logo painted on them were great!
Krispy Kreme dounuts started off the day to get the energy level up of those who NIOSAed to much the night before. Prior to the start, Judge “Woodbury” decided the committee boat needed a bottom job and flipped it over by the lighthouse. After that there was a general consensus that the marks were okay where they were.
There were thirteen boats total registered to race with 7 in Silver fleet and 6 in Gold. After the first two races the traditional fajita lunch was served. Once again a great meal, and the sailors moaned and groaned about getting back on the water. The competition was stiff and the sailors soon got back into racing mode.

Great shirts are still available- so stop buy the clubhouse and check them out. It’s warm enough and light enough to start sailing on weekdays. Thursday had traditionally been our day. Any thoughts or interest in a monthly moonlight sail? Hope to see you on the lake soon.
