2006 Round The Rocks
Victoria Regatta
Reports From Team Woodlawn August 19th, 2006 - The Pirates of Woodlawn hit the road Saturday with the Victoria R/C boats for a one day Regatta in Round Rock, TX, just north of Austin. Nine skippers represented the Woodlawn Sailing Club at this regatta making up almost ½ of the total entry’s. Have I ever mentioned anything about it being hot in Texas in August? Yep it was hot up there with a 100+ degrees, no natural shade and at first very little wind. Thankfully we brought our own shade and the little tent city we formed helped make it bearable. A great showing by the Pirates with the following skippers all either doing well or learning something for the next regatta. Pirates Results : 2nd place Eric Gregory 4th place Ray Seta 5th place Budman Garcia 6th place Bob Piper (Our Dallas member) 9th place Mark Hogan 10th place JK 17 place Ray Mireles 18th place Larry Ludwig 20th place Dee Dimayuga (newest member and Victoria owner)
