2005 Round The Rocks
Victoria Regatta
Reports From Team Woodlawn August 20th, 2005 - Team Woodlawn hit the road Saturday for a one day Regatta in Round Rock, just north of Austin, with the Victoria R/C boats. We had 6 Skippers travel up, all wearing the official Team WSC shirt and colors for the day. As usual we looked the best and are always the center of attention with out camaraderie and teamwork even as we unload in the parking lot. With 18 boats showing up, it was nice to know that Team WSC was 1/3 of the competitors. Winds were light and shifty as this new sailing site for the Austin Model Sailing Club was tested out for this maybe annual regatta. It was a hot day and running a short schedule from 10am to 2:30pm was not to be complained about given the heat and light shifty winds. I think everyone from Woodlawn had their moments of glory in one of the 10 races at sometime. The following list is the best I could remember without the results being posted on the Austin site yet. John JK Kuc 2nd Place, Ray Seta 4th Place Armando Rivera 5th Place, Eric Gregory 6th Place, Mark Hogan 10th Place, Vickie Stone 16th Place. Our friend from the Houston Clearpoint Model Sailing Club, Mark Cooper, won the event! We had a great time as a team as always and will continue to do so, especially for the up and coming Alamo Classic in October for the Victoria Class. We already have 26 skippers registered for this event. We will have both sides of the country represented. Our Token Yankee himself Tom Kern from Jersey and the current Nationals Champion Craig Mackey from Seattle will be traveling in for this event.
