Labor Day Weekend - "Run What You Brung Day"
by Ray Seta

What started out this AM as  wet drizzly day with no hope of winds, turned out to be an outstanding day for an un-official cookout at the Club for the members. "Run What you Brung Day" lived up to it's title today as we had a plethora of R/C boats hits the water. Having 5 IOM's, 2 OD's, a "Budman Skiff", and even a beautifully wood crafted gaff rigged full sized boat hitting the water today. But I think the best part of the day was the family turn-out we had with about 15 folks with wives and kids to enjoy the day. Complete with, of course, Tony Seta doing the BBQ duty and Mama Seta and Christina setting the tables, it was yet another day of nobody going home hungry. Mitch Martin for Austin even made the drive down with his IOM, even if it was for just a few hours before he had to book back up North to host a party at his house at 5 PM. Hope he made it to his own party, considering he was floating in the middle of the lake with no wind at 3:15......lol.......Even though it was a hot humid day (typical for SA), it was a great day to just hang out and talk shop knowing we didn't have work tomorrow. At the end of the day we were all treated to the launching of a home made craft and family project named "ASLAM".  David Lindow Jr. and family set sail late, about 5PM, for their 3 hour tour of Woodlawn Lake with family of two little girls that were all so cute when they told us about sanding the deck for their dad during the construction. One note about this boat, every bit of this boat is hand made, including making his own turning blocks out of wood to show the real age of this type of craft. Enjoy our photos of today's Labor Day Sail at Woodlawn and how the Pirates of Woodlawn spent the day.
