10PM CST, Friday, October 6th - Beautiful and Sunny today at Woodlawn with a 5 to 10 mph SE wind.  Set-Up got underway early this morning and by 12pm the 40x30 skipper's rigging tent and scaffolding were in place.  City crews painted the railing leading to the dock and removed the construction fence.  Everything has come together and the 2nd Annual Alamo Classic Victoria Regatta is now underway.  Practice racing began in earnest around 3:30pm with as many as 20 boats being out on the water at one time.   Skipper packages were distributed which included raffle tickets, event T-shirts and lunch bracelet's.  T-Shirt sales have been brisk and we expect to be sold out by the end of the regatta.  This evening 37 of us met at Julio's Mexican restaurant for dinner and socializing.  Photo's are posted below. 

Tomorrow's forecast calls for East winds at 8mph and 90 degrees.   Breakfast treats will be available starting at 8am.  The skipper's meeting starts at 10am and racing begins at 10:30am.  Here's our planned schedule for Saturday, October 7th:

1st official report: Friday AM - The Practice Day for the Alamo Classic has finally arrived and this Regatta organizing Pirate's day has just begun.  Good thing I got that hours worth of sleep this evening!  Our Set-Up Crew will begin arriving as early as 11am this morning and we expect valiant competitors to be arriving all afternoon.  Woodlawn's Treasurer, Ray Mireles, will have his table set-up at the clubhouse by noon to collect late registration fees, hand out participation packages and sell T-Shirts and Raffle prizes!  At 7pm this evening we plan to meet at Julio's Mexican Cafe & Restaurant located at 1620 Fredericksburg Rd.  for a Dutch (Pay Your Own Way and B.Y.O.B.) informal get together.   I've posted a map below for those planning to attend.
